Week 4
Humpty Dumpty’s visit!
Another very exciting week in Reception, kicked off by our visitor, Humpty Dumpty this week. We have been very busy rhyming, building, playing games and taking turns, creating models, creating exciting concoctions in the home corner and water.
We have started phonics this week and have been using our listening ears very carefully to play animal bingo, sound effects for Humpty and I spy on the farm.
We have also started our Maths inputs this week and the children were very helpful helping pairing up baby Rosie’s socks. They have really enjoyed playing matching memory games and sorting objects. I was very impressed with how they were able to tell me which object didn’t belong on Thursday!
As always, all homework and home learning an be accessed via Purple Mash. I love seeing your photographs showing me what you have been learning at home. If you need any assistance please ask.
Have a lovely weekend, take care and stay safe.

Starting School...
This year is unlike any we’ve had before and starting school is a big, but very exciting step and we want to ensure that despite what is happening in the world, the experience a lovely and memorable one for all our families. We have carefully planned our starting school transition and hope all of our children will feel happy and safe.
Here you will find some helpful advice to help your child with starting school.
Is your little one a fan of CBeebies?
They have a programme called ‘Time for School’ available on iPlayer which you might like to watch with your child and talk about some of the things they can expect to see when they start school.
